Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026. These terms govern your use of Deadlock Watch. By signing in or otherwise using the service you agree to them. Deadlock Watch is a community-run service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Valve Corporation.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using Deadlock Watch (the “Service”) you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of others, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for them.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction and at least the minimum age required to hold a Steam account.
  • You need a valid Steam account to sign in. You are responsible for keeping access to that account secure.
  • You may not use the Service if you are barred from doing so under any applicable law or have previously been removed from the Service.

3. What the Service is

Deadlock Watch is a community overwatch and reporting platform for the game Deadlock. It lets players report suspected cheating, griefing and toxicity, lets a community tribunal review those reports, and surfaces publicly available game data (bans, playtime, match history, performance, rank). The Service is provided for informational and community-moderation purposes only.

We are not Valve. Verdicts, trust seals, risk scores and flags produced here are community opinions and automated heuristics — they are not official Valve action, and they are not proof that any person has cheated or broken any rule. See Section 8.

4. Accounts and sign-in

  • Authentication is handled by Steam via OpenID. We never see or store your Steam password.
  • You are responsible for all activity that takes place under your account. Notify us through a support ticket if you believe your account has been misused.
  • You may stop using the Service at any time. You can also hide your public profile and delete cached external data via the opt-out on your dashboard.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • File false, malicious, retaliatory or knowingly inaccurate reports, or submit fabricated or misleading evidence.
  • Harass, threaten, defame, dox or incite harm against any player, watcher or staff member, on or off the platform.
  • Attempt to manipulate verdicts, votes, Elo, rankings or the Autoflag board, including through duplicate accounts, vote brigading or collusion.
  • Scrape, overload, reverse-engineer, probe or interfere with the Service or its infrastructure, or bypass any access or rate limits.
  • Upload unlawful content, malware, or links to such content; or use the Service to violate the rights of others or any applicable law.
  • Use the Service or its data for advertising, resale, mass surveillance, or any commercial purpose without our written consent.

6. Reports, evidence and the tribunal

  • Reports must be made in good faith and based on genuine observations. Only submit evidence you have the right to share.
  • Reports are reviewed anonymously by community watchers. Submitting spam, abusive or repeatedly false reports may cost you the ability to file and may lead to suspension.
  • Watchers must judge cases honestly and impartially based on the evidence presented. Abuse of the tribunal — including bias, collusion or careless voting — may result in loss of watcher status.
  • We may moderate, reopen, dismiss, edit or remove reports, cases, verdicts and other content where necessary to keep the record fair and lawful.

7. Your content and licence

You keep ownership of the content you submit (reports, descriptions, evidence links, written reasoning, support messages). By submitting it you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, reproduce and process that content as needed to operate, moderate and improve the Service, including showing it in anonymised form within the tribunal and on public records. You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the rights necessary to submit it.

8. No proof — accuracy disclaimer

Trust seals, risk scores, “high risk” or “cheating likely” indicators, Autoflag entries and tribunal verdicts are community-generated assessments and automated heuristics. They reflect the opinion of contributors and statistical signals from public data — they are not findings of fact, not legal determinations, and not official Valve bans or actions.

The Service may contain errors, outdated information or incorrect judgements. You must not treat anything here as conclusive proof that a person has cheated, and you must not use it to harass or take action against anyone. You use the information at your own discretion and risk.

9. Watcher programme

Watcher status is a privilege granted at our discretion and may have eligibility requirements (such as a minimum playtime). It can be adjusted, suspended or revoked at any time, including where a watcher breaches these terms or undermines the integrity of the tribunal. Elo and voting statistics are internal reputation metrics and carry no monetary value.

10. Intellectual property

The Service's name, design, code, layout and original content are owned by the operator or its licensors and are protected by applicable law. Except for content you submit, you may not copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works from the Service without permission. “Deadlock” and related marks belong to Valve Corporation; we claim no rights in them and use them only descriptively.

11. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties including Steam (Valve) for authentication and account data, and community game-data sources for match, ban and performance information. We do not control these services, are not responsible for their availability or accuracy, and your use of them is subject to their own terms.

12. Service availability

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may change, suspend, limit or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any data shown is complete or accurate.

13. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We make no warranty that the Service's assessments are correct or that it will meet your requirements.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator and contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, reputation, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service or from any content or verdict on it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (such as for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operator and contributors from any claims, damages, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these terms or of any law or third-party right.

16. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access, remove content, or revoke watcher status at any time — with or without notice — if you breach these terms, create legal risk, or harm the Service or its users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 7, 8, 10 and 13–15) will continue to apply.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

18. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the operator's place of establishment, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your country of residence. Disputes will be handled by the competent courts of that jurisdiction, where the law allows.

19. Contact
